We partner with God to lead people to authentic freedom in Christ. Authentic freedom happens when youth find freedom from sin and freedom to do what God has called them to. We impact our community and world by helping youth find safe, trusted, nurturing relationships with adults.
Rishaun’s Story
I was invited to train for basketball with Man on Fire in summer of 2016. At that time, I was training to grow in the game of basketball, however, I was still committed to living the street lifestyle. But God was doing a work in me, through me, and around me even when I couldn’t see it
In 2019 I chose to fully give my life to Christ. I acknowledged Jesus as Savior and Lord and got baptized. It was in that season that I was invited to be a part of Tribe. I said YES. Tribe provided a different community of imperfect and diverse people who were still able to belong to one another. Through my time in Tribe, I’ve learned that I am not alone, community matters, commitment and consistency pays off, and most of all God loves us.
Amaree’s Story
Ason was a member of Tribe for 5-6 years. He learned a lot during that time, including how to deepen his relationship with God, how to be honest, create with, and love people from different backgrounds and cultures! Ason shared that he was impacted by the community and bond that the MOF family had with each other. He said, “It was a true family!”
Ason is currently a Music Director at Ambassadors Worship Center while he produces music. He is also working at Guitar Center.
Haily’s Story
Haily was a member of Tribe for about 6 years. During her time as a student she learned the importance of always having a community around you to support you! She shared that being a part of Tribe made her more of a leader as she got older.
Haily is currently entering into her junior year at Olivet Nazarene University. She is studying Nursing and starts clinicals this next year. She also serves as a youth group leader, teacher assistant and a labor and delivery surgical technician.
THIS UNIQUE INITIATIVE SEEKS TO GIVE STUDENTS ACCESS TO SCHOOL SUPPLIES. OUR GOAL IS TO PARTNER WITH DISTRICTS, SCHOOLS AND TEACHERS IN KANKAKEE COUNTY TO HELP PROVIDE THE NECESSARY RESOURCES FOR STUDENTS TO SUCCEED IN THE CLASSROOM.
BLAZE IS AN EVENT FUELED BY FUN AND UNDERGIRDED BY INTENTIONAL COMMUNITY SO STUDENTS CAN BE FREE IN SPIRIT AND THOUGHT. THIS PARTY IS OUR HIGHEST ATTENDED EVENT BECAUSE IT IS THE TIME EACH MONTH STUDENTS FROM ALL OF OUR INITIATIVES COME TOGETHER FOR THE PURPOSE OF GIVING OUR YOUTH A SAFE ENVIRONMENT TO HAVE FUN.
FIRETRAINING OFFERS BASKETBALL WORKOUTS AS AN AVENUE FOR PERSONAL GROWTH AND RELATIONSHIP. THIS UNIQUE INITIATIVE BRINGS IN REVENUE THROUGH PERSONAL AND GROUP TRAINING, CAMPS, CLINICS, AND FUNDRAISERS. FIRETRAINING HAS THREE HIGHLY QUALIFIED LEAD TRAINERS AND A HOST OF YOUTH WHO HELP AS TRAINER APPRENTICES.
