Our goal is to partner with districts, schools and teachers in Kankakee county to help provide the necessary resources for students to succeed in the classroom
SPARK INITIATIVE LEADER HILARY MCDANIEL CRAWFORD
“I have been teaching for over 10 years and there is one thing that each year has in common and that is every year I have a handful of students that come to school on the first day with an empty backpack. As a child I loved going back to school shopping and getting all the new supplies to prepare me for the upcoming year. My parents bought me the things that I needed in order to start the school year off strong. Myself, like many other educators, want the students in our classrooms to feel that same excitement and success so we find ourselves running to the store after teaching or looking for all the best back to school supply deals throughout the summer to provide students with the supplies they need. The spark that is in that child's eyes when they come to school the next day and see their desk filled with what they need to complete the tasks they need to complete makes it all worth it! We see the need and fill it. Now Man on Fire sees the need and wants to spark something new for teachers and students by blessing them with a bag of supplies to start them off strong just like so many of our parents did for us as children!”
The Spark Plan
We would like to invite you to join us on this new endeavor. Would you consider gathering school supplies donations for our local schools? We will provide a box to gather the supplies and will pick up and distribute everything once the drive is over. The supplies needed are listed here:
1. Pencils
2. Expo markers
3. Highlighter(6-8 only)
4. Crayons
5. Markers
6. Colored pencils
7. Scissors
8. Glue sticks
Any size of donation will be accepted. We would love it if you, your church or organization would collect donations for us for 3 weeks: July 21, July 25, and August 4.. Then we will distribute all the supplies to teachers in the Bourbonnais 53 & Kankakee School district
